TOTO partners with ecoScorecard

VP Supply Corp. (Rochester, NY) is promoting green technology through its Renewable Energy Division, which was instituted in early 2009. VP will host a commercial solar photovoltaic training installation with Key Systems (Victor, NY) Dec. 6 - 8, 2010, in which a 20KW commercial system will be added to an existing 10KW residential system. TOTO announced that it is the first plumbing manufacturer to partner with ecoScorecard (pictured at right) and incorporate this ser TOTO ecoScorecard vice into its product catalog. This partnership will help its customers — including building owners, architects, designers and product specifiers — streamline the time needed to deliver the environmental documentation required to qualify for green building rating systems such as LEED, GGHC Labs 21, CHPS, and the NAHB Green Home Building Guidelines as well as other third-party product certification systems, TOTO said. A TOTO product’s ecoScorecard includes information such as pre- and post-consumer recycled content, life cycle analysis status, product and packaging recyclability, and freedom from hazardous metals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium.

Elkay Commercial said its new ERPBGRN refrigerated drinking fountain series offers energy efficiency, water-conscious functionality, reduced refrigerant consumption, and utilizes recycled content materials. It supports the LEED credits for Water Use Reduction and Optimize Energy Performance: Design & Construction. The drinking fountain features the Flexi-Guard StreamSaver bubbler to reduce water waste and has a stream height regulator.

Native Trails said its hand-hammered copper range hood (pictured, left) incorporates a safe and efficient baffle filtration system, and the variable speed motor control provides numerous ventilation settings. Visibility and efficiency are enhanced by the dimmer-controlled halogen lighting. Sustainability is a large part of the Native Trails philosophy. Products are made with LEED certification in mind.
