Natural inspiration
Artist Ben Timpson collects organic materials like flower petals, bug wings and human hair to use in his art, including the creation of tiny slides that he blows up onto canvases. His new show, Around Us, will include these light boxes, oil paintings and reproductions. And for the first time, patrons can purchase the light boxes. The opening reception will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Scoop Studios as part of the First Friday Art Stroll on Broad Street. Complimentary refreshments will be served. There is no charge to attend.
